Sites to Subscribe To:

Makerbook

A personally curated collection of sites and resources. Makerbook points you to high quality stock images and video, as well as some of the best design assets available such as color pallets, textured backgrounds, and icons.

Web Designer Depot

Of all their fantastic content, my favorite are the weekly "Popular Design News of the Week" series. Each week is a roundup of various user submissions. This weekly newsletters lets you in on the latest big-news-in-web from articles to assets.

Additionally, the monthly series "What's New For Designers" give a concise, survey of what frameworks, patterns, resources, and tools are rising across the web. It's a great place to find assets for your next project or skills to learn in your spare time.

Put A Pin In It:

Escape

The best way to kick a habit to become overwhelmingly aware. If you spend a lot of time on the computer doing work, but spend an equal amount of time being distracted by websites, Escape can help you become aware of just how much time you're devoting to tasks other than work.

Heisenberg Ipsum

If Ipsum's too Latin, Hipster Ipsum is to Pabst-filled, and Breaking Bad is considered, by you (as well) to be one of the greatest TV shows ever aired, then Heisenberg Ipsum may be your new go-to ipsum generator.

Skeleton

For simple projects, lessons, and demos Skeleton is a simple, responsive CSS framework with just around 200 lines. It's lightweight and easy, which means you can focus on more important things than CSS layouts.
